Dream Theatre...

Alright so remember when I said I don't dream? Well, you should because it was in the last post. And, as it turns out, I lied. Lately not only have I been dreaming, they've been horrible with a capital H! But let's go back a little bit. Every once in awhile, I have dreams about bad stuff happening to my teeth. Either they're falling out in droves or they're chipping and crumbling while everyone else around me seems completely disinterested. Then I awake and spend the rest of my day thinking about my dream and licking my teeth off and on to make sure they're still in my mouth.

But usually I don't dream at all unless I am awake for a few minutes and then go back to bed; that's when the fun starts. For the past couple of nights I've had just terrible dreams that prompted me to complete challenge number five in 'the book': keep a dream diary. I don't really want to, and while it won't become common practice I figure if I get them out of my head and into script then perhaps I can carry on as per normal.

In the first dream, I killed someone and covered it up. This somehow segued into a dream about the end of the world. Not good on either account. Then the other night I had a dream that a bunch of people were in an auditorium and someone released a varied bunch of poisonous snakes and we had to scramble to track down all the required antidotes while the people began to deteriorate at different rates. I googled dream meanings and as it turns out, each was actually something positive. Dream one concluded that I was letting go of old habits in preparation of a new way of living. Dream number two indicates that snakes are "A powerful dream symbol associated with feminine energy, healing and spirituality. Being bitten by a snake in a dream is actually positive, meaning you are accepting all parts of your nature as you grow into a stronger person." Pretty cool, huh? I hope there's something to this because while the dreams were super bothersome, their meanings give me hope.

Either way I think the biggest lesson of all to be learned here is that beer and zombie movies right before bed is not the best idea...
